The La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero series is an extremely strong blend of cigars. Certainly the most well-known line, the Double Ligero is not for the faint of heart. Handmade in the Dominican Republic, under the watchful eye of Litto Gomez, these cigars contain a considerable amount of Dominican ligero. The binder and filler are grown on LFD's Dominican farm, La Canela, and the natural version's wrapper is Ecuadorian sun-grown while the maduro version exhibits more sweet, toasty notes. These cigars are full-bodied with initial notes of cedar and spice. Then it blossoms to rich layers of coffee, nuts and minerals. The finish is earthy, with a touch of molasses.
Attractive, oily and very fat, the La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero DL-700 is the lighter version of the DL-700 Maduro but don't let the lighter wrapper color fool you. This guy still packs a punch but the flavors are more cedary in nature. The 6 1/2 inch by 60 rg beast will ride with you for about 70 minutes. The strength is strong. We suggest you have a meal before you light this natural mo' fo' up.
